Before you blow past this article, just think about the following question. Do you want to improve your skiing? Racing will help you improve your skiing because you are forced to turn around the gates so when you are free skiing, it becomes easier to avoid other skiers and bad terrain. If you have ever thought about trying racing or if you just want to improve your skiing, this is the year to try racing. We have a special discount rate for this year. Join the CSC race team for $5 and you are eligible to race on all weekend OVSC races. Some OVSC races have extra race fees from the resort but all have discount lift tickets and only one of the 5 race days at Perfect North have the extra race fee so if you have a gold or season pass you can race on 4 different days with 2 races each day for only $5. We have a lot of fun and it is a great way to make new friends from other clubs that enjoy skiing and racing. The race team has an awards night at a spring meeting with trophies/medals for the top racers and door prizes that all racers are eligible to win. You must race in 4 races to qualify for the trophies/medals but you get your name in the hat for every race you run for the door prizes. We race almost every weekend in January and February but you only have to attend the races that fit into your schedule. If you join the Perfect North Adult Race League on Thursday nights, then you are expected to make it every Thursday. Since the race league is a team effort it is only fair to the others on your team. If you miss one or two weeks, it is not an issue, especially if it is due to a ski trip. Each club trip will have a race and those races will count as club races with your name entered for the door prizes.

There is a $10 bib deposit that you will get back when you return the racing bib or if you get hooked you can keep the bib and we will keep the $10.
