2009 Golf League Fun Night and Banquet

So it was cold and the course was a bit swampy, a little adversity wasn't going to stop the eight teams who played in the Fun Night event on October 24. We even saw our shadows late in play, obviously predicting six more weeks of golf weather.

Flight winners were announced at the banquet. Congrats to Tom Berning, the big Mugg, Dave Perry, the top Err, Charalee Allen and Judy Hearn, who shared the honor of being the most Weis ladies and Jolene Wendel, the best Bud girl.

A new award was announced – some hackers were "Frosted". Golfers become "Frosted" by executing a high level golf achievement. The frosted golfers receive a gold snowflake pin to symbolize their achievement. Tom Berning and Dan Smith won for winning their flight twice, Susan Smith won for having played in all four flights, Earl Slanker won for being able to shoot his age, Alan Dorschug won for scoring an eagle on hole #15, Doug Pekel won for scoring a hole-in-one on hole #8 and Dorothy Richards won for telling the Commish he was playing too slow. Wear your flakes proudly, ladies and gents. And don't forget, you can be de-frosted!

A rousing applause was given to our Commish, Dan Smith, and our Stats Guy, Ray Reilman. Thanks guys, we couldn't have this much fun without you!
